When a client asks for an “updated 2015 new look,” using all her existing furnishings, (which just happen to be beautifully workable) – ask yourself, what makes the most obvious and impressive impact in a re-decorating scheme? The answer? Paint, wallcoverings, and window treatments! (along with some imagination and enthusiasm) See the results:
In this 3 bedroom, 2 ½ bath, 2,200 sq. ft. one level condominium, we wanted to achieve a coordinated color palette as the rooms are readily seen from one another. With its abundance of natural light, wood floors, textured carpets, 9' ceilings, beautiful kitchen, and a well-designed floor plan – the stage was set! Change the plain Jane walls and windows into a sophisticated and comfortable living space!
Neutral and dramatic, the colors range from vanilla, khaki, and deep taupe, to mid-tone yellows and greys. Now add coordinating window treatments, Silhouette shades, Luminette panels, banded side draperies, cornices – and an urban setting was created! The living room space flows into an office area - around into the kitchen providing a true mix of moods!
The kitchen granite and cherry cabinets dictated the contemporary cafe au lait wall color matching curved textured vertical blinds. Topping the 10' window expanse sits a unique geometric cornice with banding and buttons matching the bar stool cushions and table runner! A great area to meet and greet!
With patterned wallcoverings in all 3 bathrooms,(Yes, I said wallpaper!) the colorways continue now with subtle, bold, and whimsical designs. The dramatic paisley pops in the powder room because those small rooms always benefit from some drama! The other bathroom designs blend beautifully with the adjoining bedrooms - serene greys and washed whites with grey silk draperies, and sunny yellow with printed greys.
Relax in the cozy T.V. room surrounded by a dramatic mix of taupe and textures featuring the tiered shade that allows just the right amount of light from the top or bottom.
Unite all these rooms with an attention to detail and a sincere ”connection” with the client, and the results truly reflect her personality in this finished project!
After vacationing and catching a 26 lb. Grouper, my client says she can hardly wait to return and open the door to see her beautiful new home! Because we all know – “There's No Place Like Home.”
From Our Customer:
“I am so very pleased with the look that was created working with Linda Moffat at the J.C.Licht Mundelein store. She has a great eye for color and co-ordinated everything in my condominium. Her options are classy and timeless and I could not be happier. I would recommend using her talents to anyone when starting a project such as this!”
